KVCD: audio would cut out and back in?
Ok so I burned the KVCD Compatability CD and ran it on my Phillips DVD701, 1-4 worked fine, but when I tried to make my own KVCD and play it, the audio would cut out and back in and continue to do so.
Just wondering what it is im doing wrong? I looked over some other forum posts and Krag suggested putting the min bitrate to 600-650, i tried that and its still the same. Anyone help please? |

Wich tool did you use for doing the audio ? And how did you process ?
Is the mpg play correclt on the PC or does the problem occurs also on it ? |

You work from an uncompressed wav or a simply demuxed mpa ?

Well i removed the audio from an .avi using Virtual dub, so im guessing its an uncompressed WAV seeing as its 900 odd mb :)

Okay, nothing wrong in the method so. Thus I don't have the slightest idea of what is wrong.
Did you test the movie on the PC first ? |
Yea it works perfectly fine, I download a kvcd film and tried that on my dvd player which works fine, i used the audio info from that film for this one but god knows why its doing wot it is! :(

And you have this problem with ALL your KVCD or you did only one and this occurs on it ?
If you did only one, perhaps you should do an other. Other thing : you are doiung 23.976 in MPEG1. As 23.976 is not a standard freq, it is possible that your problem is there. How was the KVCD you DLed ? 23.976 alos or 29.970 ? |
Hmmm, just checked and that DL'ed one is in, 29.970, would that affect the audio though?
Also, is there a way to change the resolution once the audio and video have been put together? |
First: 29.970 .... hmmmm
Now it depends which kind of stream you have, a blockbuster/Hollywood movie (should be in that case a downloaded capture). Or something else like a documentation, music concert video etc. ??? Because you can't directly encode at 23.976 from a 29.970, that would result in an out of sync audio disaster. Second: Once the movie is encoded you can't change the resolution. @ KWAG Our nice php mailer does it's party again as again an error comes up when replying. :( |

For me the picture is clear: your player recognizes VCD file structure and NTSC resolution and try to play the video at 29.976. Therefore the sound cut out and in. I have the same here. You can try to push the player to play the file as PAL and will see that the sound is ok but the video become somewhat jerky. You must encode the xvid file as 23.976 with 3:2 pulldown during playback, and I assume to mux under the same conditions. Well, have no big experience with NTSC, I am PAL user. |

Ok so i did what your guide said, now, what would i put as the "Type" in MPEG Tools in TMPGEnc so i can put the video + audio together.
Im guessing its "MPEG-2 Super VideoCD (VBR)" - if thats the case, would i burn as "Super VCD" in nero and just untick "Create standard compliant CD" ??? |
Take "Super VideoCD" in tmpgenc and burn as SVCD in Nero.

in tmpgenc i chose "MPEG-2 Super VideoCD (VBR)" and after it had finished i checked the mpeg and it played for a few secs then the video stopped playing but the audio carried on.
i checked the .m2v and that was fine, so i just chose "MPEG-2 Program (VBR)" and checked the mpeg after that had finished and it was fine, will this still work when i burn with Nero? |
