Converting multiple MPEG-1 files to KDVD?
I've got 10 mpeg1 files I'd like to burn to 1 DVD. The total time is 8 hours. Here is some of the info about one of the files.
Frame Size: 384x288 Frame Rate: 25 fps Length: 47:39 Average Bitrate: 799Kbps (98KB/s) Audio Format: 44.1KHz Stereo Audio Bitrate: 112Kbps Do I have to first encode these as avi's then convert them back to mpeg2 KDVD compliant? Please advise if this is possible and what tools steps are necessary. I've searched through the forums and guides with no avail. Thanks to anyone that contributes. |
The free SVCD2DVDMPG will convert you mpeg1 files to files ready to be imported in your favorite encoding application. No need to reencode. DVD Standard supports VCD resolution.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Will it allow me to put 8 hours of VCD/SVCD quality mpeg's on a single DVD that will play on my standalone? I've made a bunch of VCD/SVCD's before with success. This is my first try at a high compression DVD.

But the audio is easy to reencode compared to video. Note : 384*288 is all but a valid VCD resolution ! If there is no error there, then the video must be reencoded (VCD resolution is 352*288) |
I'm at my wits end here. I've used SVCD2DVDmpg to split the video. I've converted the audio to 48KHz and rejoined them. I've tried using TMPGenc DVD Author, but it crashes when I load the file and tell it to ignore the non standard GOP structure. Some of the files are non-standard resolutions (384x288).
Should I just use TMPGenc to reencode all of my mpeg files? Should I convert them all by loading the template for VCD? Basically I want to have 1 DVD with a menu that leads to each of these files. My DVD player is listed as compatible with KDVD. Please help. I seem to just be spinning my wheels. TIA |
