when i save the project in tmpgenc, source range is not selected but when cqmatic encodes, the movie is practically cut in half and soure range is checked when i saved it as unchecked. when i try to reset it it says 'list index is out of range(0)

That's normal : CqMatic actually use range editing to make its prediction (it works on a sample made with "slices" of the whole movie).
