KVCD: Dark Area on Movies?

With the MA script do you still get the problems in the dark area of movies(i don't know the terms but could be noise)

The bright parts of the movie are excellent but in the dark areas i still get these problems.I know its not dvd but just wondering if i am missing anything

Your problem is probably dancings squares that are called DCT blocks ? No ?

If yes, it can be reduced by adding a blokbucter line at end of the script.

Thanx Phil i think it is probably DCT blocks

Do these normally occur on dvd encodes because i am thinking no or the blockbuster line would be in the MA script

DCT blocks in dark area are tied to MPEG codec. So it do not depend on the source.

But, the K-Notch matrix and the usage of CQ mode is supposed to reduce a lot the phenomena, and so you shouldn't need this for KVCD. That's why none of the scripts (except mine for avi->kvcd) suggest to use the line.

Blockbuster(method="noise",detail_min=1,detail_max=10,variance=0.3,seed=5623)
