Use moviestacker or FitCD which do the correct resizings and border addings for you.

IF you got a 4:3 means 1.33:1 source which already is pan-scanned, means no boarders already, then you cant change to widescreen.

Just did a preview in dvd2avi.
Aspect Ratio 4:3, Ntsc . Interlaced. Fps 29.97.

When i play the preview , there are black borders top & bottom, but the sample i am encoding , when i preview it , comes full screen.

In Tmpgenc , i load the template and then the script , in setting it shows aspect ratio 1:1 vga.

Can i change it in tmpgenc or in the script to get borders on top&bottom.

As I said above, do load the d2v in Moviestacker or FitCD which does the right calculations for you... and afterwards, when importing that avs script in Tmpgenc do use "center" in the resizing/aligning section and also set in advanced as Aspectratio 4:3

I was trying with fitcd , was giving me vague results , so i tried the script i got from optimal scripts from doom9 (Here)

It's giving me gr8 results and widescreen like i want. Can i predict the cq with toq or cqmatic , no diff or method is diff.

you use calcumatic to get the average bitrate and running time then you feed this into Cqmatic and Cqmatic will get the cq for you. i normally use cqmatic never used the other one.

make sure that all your directorys are short e.g c:\movie.avi, otherwise cqmatic does not work properly and gives u wrong cq
