KVCD: Successful conversions in the past two days

It has been only 3 days since I got to know about KVCD. Thanx to all the guides and helpful personal messages from people using this forum, I've already burnt 6 KVCDs in the past 2 days.

These are some of the bigger files that I converted to KVCD successfully:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. 1hour 58minutes AVI file to 769MB KVCD
2. 2 hours 7minutes AVI file to 779MB KVCD

These two conversions, I did them the easy way using ACP. As you can see, the resulting files size was lesser than expected in both the cases. But the Video and Audio quality of these KVCDs when played on my DVD player was pretty good.

3. 2hours 46minutes (2 different AVI files) to one 787MB KVCD

For this conversion, I used the latest optimal AVS script (that I got from the forums) edited with some values from MovieStacker. Then I used the AVS script and mp2 file with ToK to convert them to KVCD. The video and audio quality isnt that good when played on PC. But the quality was quite good when I played the KVCD on my stand-alone DVD player.

One thing I still dont know is how to remove the black bands in the movie and resize the movie so that it fits the entire tv screen. I'm sure there is some help available for this somewhere in these forums. But I still havent figured that out :)

Thanx again for the help that you guys provided and to all the tool makers (software developers) for making the conversion process a lot easier for us.

You mean that you want to have a fullscreen KVCD from a widescreen source ? No one will help you doing that. It's a crime ! :-)

Congratulation for your quick success.

Hey P2phunter,

Good to see you getting a hang of this and encoding into kvcd.

Try the manual prediction like i told you, results are even better.

In the settings , set min bitrate to 64 and test if your player supports it as it would increase the Cq.

My first kvcd was 180 minutes cq 57 , mi/max bitrate 300/800.

Now that i have done a few, last night did a 168 min video.
Min/max Bitrate 64/1800 , Cq 71.09.

Remove asharp and Blockbuster filters from your script and give it a go.

Cheers!

Thanx for the tip!
