Im making a vcd using 352x240 kvcdplus template and i would just like some suggestions on how to make a dark movie look a little bit clearer? Like maybe be able to brighten the movie up a little bit so that the really dark scenes are visible and im not straining my eyes to see what is happening.

The movie i have is Halloween Resurrection, and it is in MPG format, without DivX codec. The movie itself is just a dark movie with lots of non-lit scenes.

I also just want to know if there's anything at all i could do to clean up the macro blocks during these dark scenes? This movie is only 83 minutes long, so i should be able to bump up the bit rate and cq etc.

P.S. I already have the "direct show reader" set up to high priority 4, and it helps a little bit, but not much.

Any suggestions on how to fix up any of these issues by using TMPG???

Well you cant clean up a poor source, and that screener of halloween is about as bad as i've seen. The macro blocks can be fixed by increasing the bitrate usually, but then you may have a size problem.

Bruce Leroy? ...Great name man! Definately one of my favorite classic movies.

Anyways, yea that Halloween Resurrection is a really poor excuse for a screener. The sad part is, that the one i have is the best one out. It's the repack.(the least they could've done was get the version from the theaters)

Yea...This movie is short, so i'll probably get an svcd outta it. Im putting it on an RW anyways. I got an uncle that wants to check it out so.
Thanx for the reply though man.

P.S. MACRO BLOCKS REALLY REALLY SUCK!
