KVCD: best quality movies possible?

Hi everyone! Im new to KVCD.net. i stumbled upon it while searching the web for stuff involving creating xvcds. I want the best quality movies possible while not taking more than two 700MB CDs. My DVD player is the Toshiba SD-2700. I know that VCDs and XVCDs work on it. It doesnt not support SVCDs though. I was wondering if the KVCD would be something I should look into. I convert a lot of action movie dvd rips. I was wondering if KVCD is for me and if so which template would be best. I live in USA so its NTSC....

Well it all depends on whether you want to put your fillms on 1 or 2 cds. If you don't mind 2 cds you can get really close to the original dvd quality wise with the KVCD2 templates that use the same frame size as dvd's. It's all a question of experimentation. Just encode samples with all the templates and see what looks the best.

Hi goldmember1986,

To add to tarsus comment, you should download the three KVCD PLUS samples, and burn them to a CD-R. This should test the compatibility of your player. If they play correctly, you might want to give the PLUS templates a test run. They produce the highest quality of all KVCD templates.
