what does everyone else use and what do they find best.

i just did a 2 pass vbr on a 2 hour and 10 mins avi and got good results but dont really seem that much better then when i did a encode using min bitrate of 300 max 1850 cq 80.

so im confused a little i thought 2 pass would be better but perhaps not.

The results at low resolution aren't good to see.

Test CQ vs. 2-pass with a res of 480x576 or NTSC 480x480 and try to get the same average Bitrate and then you can see the differencem the great difference.
