tmpgenc won't open mpeg2 files

Tmpgenc used to open mpeg2 files without any program on my computer. After my computer crashed, I installed everything back. Now, it says mpeg2 files "can't be open or unsuported". Any help?

Can you open those MPEG-2 files in Windows Media Player?
That is very important.
If not I believe you have a broken codec.
Or maybe you need to install latest XviD.
But please check 1st WMP.
