Note that enabling "Pad VCD audio" will produce a more accurate final file size, because then the authoring software (e.g. VCDEasy) won't have to pad the data while it authors.

Hi,

I find that if I go by the guide I can't adjust the computer bitrate, but if I activate the MPG1 option I can adjust it. What should I do? activate the MPG1 option or not? I am trying to convert a ntsc format to PAL. How will I be able to tell if it is changing from NTSC to PAL when it converts in BBMPEG?

BBMPEG deals with thre muxing, that is not its job to convert NTSC to PAL. That is the encoder that does that.

For the second point : why to you want to change ANY thing on that snapshot ? As sansgrip told : these are the optimal parameters

Hi Dialbot,

By ENcoder do you mean TMPGENC or TOK? When I use Tok it activates TMPGENC auotmatically and the resulting MPG's audio lags behind the scenes. It gets worse as the movie progresses.I've been told its best to mux the audio with BBMPEG so it is in sync with the movie. Which is why I am trying to make my setting in BBMPEG the same as the one in the picture. But to make the Computed bitrate active I must click on mpg1 to use that function. As the picture does not show the mpg1 function being active, I wondered if it right to activate that option.

When using ToK as im sure Phil will also tell you it is best to encode the audio seperately by the line AviSource("PATH\NAME.avi",false)

ToK uses BBMpeg to mux the audio/video it only uses TmpgEncoder to do the video.

Read Razorblades excellent Avi to Divx guide as it gives you an idea of how to do things. The only thing about that guide is that if you are using DivX as a source then dont use the script in that guide as its for the DVD source. Instead use Phil's (Dialhot) V3 or V4 scripts.

If your source is DivX use Vdub or VdubMod to extract the audio and then use headache to convert the resulting Wav to MP2.

Razorblades DivX to KVCD Guide

Dialhot's Optimum DivX scripts >>>HERE<<<

If your source is a DVD then read Red-M's excellent guide for making KVCD from a DVD from scratch. Red-M's Guide Here

Im sorry if I have missed anything out as I havent done KVCD for a while now since getting my DVD Burner i mainly concertrate on KDVD these days.

I hope this helps.

Hi Zyphon,

I'm doing a kvcd from a XVID source. I just can't seem to get the second row of settings in my screen ,to be exactly the same as the best settings shown here without activating mpg1. If I activate mpg1 then I can change the computed bitrate. Without doing that it is "grayed out"

Really if you are using ToK then you dont really need to mess about with BBMpeg as far as I know. Did you use MovieStacker as well?

Also try looking at acp as that is a good program for creating KVCD and doesnt really need any configuring.

I did use TOK, and the audio in the mpg produced was out of sync.

Hi WOWIEGURL,

If you use ToK then you should really do the audio seperately like I said in the Avisource Line you should do this in ToK:

AviSource("PATH\NAME.avi",false)

I use Moviestack 2 beta 3 using Razor's guide and in Moviestacker you should get your rezise parameters.
What I normally click on FS Editor on MS, then all I do is copy Phil's V3 or V4 DivX script into the the Full screen Editor

I look at the video size usually for me its 352,288 as im in PAL country.

Copy the AviSource and paste that over the one in Phil's script making sure you add the ",false" (without quotes) after the avi " as I showed an example above. Delete all the lines now above Phil's script so that your left with just Phil's script and clive on Save Script this creates a AVS script.

This way Tok will only handle the Video and its better to do things this way.

Note: Look at phil's script look at the filters it uses and all the necessary:

LoadPlugin("C:\blah\blah\Filters\GripFit_preview.d ll") for example.

So TMPGEncoder knows where to look for the filters.

Use VDub to extract the audio from your DivX/Xvid use the Save WAV option in the File Menu.

Then use Besweet GUI or Headache to convert the resulting Wav to MP2.

Now you can load your Avs script in ToK and go to Audio and More Tab and click on External Audio Radio button. Click on the ... button and point it to the MP2 file you just created.

I usually set min bitrate to 300 and max to 1800.

I know its long winded to do it this way but believe me its worth it and you will get a better conversion and sound should be in synch.

That's how I used to do it.

Read those two guides I posted here but in Razorblades guide ignore the script there he used the MA script which is for DVD Source and hes guide is for DivX to KVCD so that script he has given wont work for you, like I said use Phil's Optimal scripts found >>>HERE<<<

Like I said failing that use Acp and just click on that requires no tweaking at all and does the lot audio and video.
