Yes, I guess this would be the right place

What formats are permitted in PowerPoint
What format is your movie

but i guess the thing isn't about power point! 2 questions:
- Is there any program to convert MPG files to another kind of video files?
- What is a non-standart movie?

PowerPoint from office 97 allows mpg files, so newer versions should also do this.
Non standar movie might be SVCD mpg file (or muxed as SVCD). MPEG1 file muxed as VCD works fine. Search through forum for information about re-muxing this file to VCD format.

I do use PowerPoint in our agency (and btw. it sucks!! - shure Microsoft, ... just do author a PP. preentation for MAC incl. .mov's and you cant give it to your clients who are using pc! - this sucks!)

I made many mpeg clips for importing into PP. and never had trouble.

From where are these clips?

Also....

FPS?
Size?
mpeg1 or mpeg2?
length! ?
