My first impressions with Mencode-Me
 

I'm using mencoder pre4 exe from ftp.mplayerhq.hu/. At first glance, I saw a very newbie interface. At first I didn't like it it, but now I am very pleased. I am glad to have the "advanced" checkbox so I can override KVCD settings and encode mpeg-2 and mpeg-1 at a certain bitrate CBR by selecting ksvcd and kvcd respectfully. I was really mad I was only getting 15 fps, but I found it was my own user glitch and now I get 38 fps on my 2.2 celeron :P Quality is by far superb to that of Quenc in my opinion. I appreciate the easy to use gui because novices are happily welcomed into the video encoding arena at least to me. Thanks for a great program!
