default tmpgenc template or the skvcd template?
I have lord of the rings and wanted to do a svcd of it but when I use either the default tmpgenc template or the skvcd template I'm only getting about 38mins per disc resulting in about 5 to 6 cds. What I want to know is how can I get around 45mins per disc like the dvd screener which is 4 cds???

If you use the SKVCD template, you should get 60+ minutes on each CD. Of course, this is encoding from your wide screen IVTC'ed DVD at 23.976 or wide screen PAL. If your version is full screen, you'll get around 40-45 minutes. -kwag |
its pal so I don't need to worry bout ivtc it, and its widescreen so yay 60mins per cd :D
Thanx for the reply kwag. AndyB ;) |
lotr
I've also been working with lotr, but with the KVCDx2Plus NTSC template. It easily would have fit on 3 80min discs. The only problem was that I encoded with an avs file generated with FitCD, but didn't use the Huffy codec. I got burned with the solarization effect. That was 27hrs of encoding in TMPGenc wasted. I have an old PIII 500MHz machine.
I've installed the Huffy codec, but haven't had yet redone the encoding. Now I'm wondering if I'll be able to get it down to 2 discs with the old KVCDx2 1 disc template. For some reason, I like the idea of working with the 704x480 resolution. Andy |

Use the 352x480 PLUS template. That way you'll fit the complete movie in two CD's. Go for that one  -kwag |
