KVCD: New converted video looks very skinny?

i have a divx/avi, 720x304/25fps, length 1.36.58 vidio file that i'm converting with a kvcd template 352x288 25fps pal.
the original vidio plays and looks fine apart from one problem, major letter box efect, and the people in the one i'm converting looks very skinny. could i please have some ideas on the best template to use and is there any tweeks i can do with in tmpgenc.

Hi Throbber,

Use moviestacker to get the right values for the resizing. Make sure you set the video aspect in TMPGEnc to "center".

Since your movie is only 1:36, you can also try to use a higher resolution like 528x576 or maybe even 704x576.

704 will be too much but 544 will surely give good result if you use the script I provide in the avi->kvcd section of the forum.

thank for your replys.
i ran the 352x288 with (no margin keep aspect ratio) as this seemed the best visualy, only trouble is i'v lost a lot of the sides and the picture quality is rubbish, is that because i'v redused the resolution so much?. the "center" option seemed to zoom in more. results =136min/595mb.

i did a 5min test run with the 704 and it seemed way to big, 30mb. the 528 gave me a virtical letter box?.

Yes.

Are you using a script? Use a the avi V4 script for optimal results!

Look at the main page at the right side, there are links to numerous guides to make a kvcd.

You can try this one:
