Mencoder.exe is a command line encoder program. It needs some special words to be working. MencodeMe make mencoder.exe working easier, as you don't need to know those special words that mencoder.exe needs. |

Yes, it is, even with 2 pass. |
i only use one time (short time last days) but i test everything thousands times in "paranoic" way but i can write,believe me:
i never saw another GUI(encoder) fast and cool like that ! in my first test is 3 times faster than CCE. :wink: i'm just waiting for the .avs scripts to use with my personal taste filters ! aaaaahhh...someone understood my last phrase? :oops: |

avs direct input? |

is just like we load the .avs script in CCE or tmpgenc......MA script as sample! :wink: |
@Jorel,
Hi buddy, I'm quite sure that Prodater64 clearly understood your phrase. The problem is why don't you use your avs script of your preference right now? You can do it with ffvfw installed. Actually you don't need ffvfw engine at all, only the makeAVIS executable and it's ffvfw.dll. With makeAVIS you build a fake AVI such as we are used to do with DVD2AVI for instance. That's what Pro didn't understand in your phrase: no need to keep waiting :wink: Cheers m8s |
Correia, i don't knew that cos i don' t have ffvfw engine intalled here!
8O can you and/or prodater do a little "how to" for stup friends? :oops: i only use MencoderMe "standards" adjusts one time to test! i love .avs scripts with some filters...is my "fever" for encode vobs! :wink: |

can you and/or prodater do a little "how to" for stup friends?/quote] ffvfw comes with a soft called "makeAVIs". This literraly turns avs script into (pseudo)avi files. This (pseudo)avi files are seen by any encoder or player as a real avi. Things are simple : do your script as usual, laucnch makeAVIs on it will create an avi file. Play thsi file in zoomplayer for instance and you will see that the result is the same than when you play directly the avs script :-) |
@ rds: You are right. Jorel just surprise me!
@Jorel: Try this rds_correia guide or this Prodater64 guide. |
ok, thank you Correia,Phil and Prodater!
saturday or sunday i will try..my time still short! :wink: |

then,
if I have very understood: making single reference cce: 1. mencoder is better (as quality) if I encoder in mpeg2 and I make 2 pass, if I make 1 pass is better mencoder or cce? 2. mencoder is faster of cce it is in 1pass that in 2pass? (in that relationship percentage)? 3.which is the tools more simple in order to use mencoder, mencoderMe or Packshot? by |

mencoder's quality is near CCE's quality. To me sometimes I think mencoder has the edge but I would say they are very similar. When I say this, I'm always talking about 1pass because we've always done 1pass with other encoders so far. Give both tools a run for their money. For a newbie in the encoding world I would say the MencodeMe is better because it comes with very nice templates all ready for us to use :wink: For the more experienced users maybe Packshot can make them feel at home because all the options we're used to see in an encoder are coming to that GUI. Also bear in mind that Packshot will run a Besweet tool to encode AC3 sound for VOB input. MencodeMe doesn't do sound encode. But MencodeMe is also very capable for the most experienced, too. So at the end of the day I think it's a matter of personal taste. Cheers |
