Mencoder Doesn't work for me
Hey guys,
I've installed all files like inc. explaind. And if i load my source and choose all settings and click "Start Encoding" nothing happens. The Windows Command lines open for 1 Second and over and in the target directory no file wíll be created. What have I done wrong? |
Do you have put Packshot.exe in the same folder where mencoder.exe is ?
Packshot HAS to be in the same folder! so it can recognise the presense of mencoder. |
Yes. Like in your guide but nothings gonna happen. :(
|
What is your input: A makeavis AVI .... or a one-file-VOB?
What are your settings in the target size drop down window? |
It's a VOB file wich I want to do in 704x576 overscan.
But also the other settings don't work for me. |

what means "other settings" :?: |
@Encoder Master
PackShot create a .bat file you can found in engines folder. Open it (Edit) and type after the command line for mencoder Code:
Pause |

EM, do write a simple textfile in the SAME folder where mencoder is using the following lines Code:
mencoder.exe Then a command console output comes out. select everything there in the commandline using your mouse and go above and chosoe copy. Paste that commandline output in here so we can see if your mencoder can be accessed! |
Oh, suddenly it works I don't know why but it works. But not with the mencoder Matrix.
Very nice speed by the encoder. With Full D1 Resolution and a Full screen Movie 25fps. 8O It seems that 2-pass is a little bit better than 1-pass. The peaks are a little bit higher but I will test more and compare with TMPGEnc. Thx @ All for the Help. |
I will check that mencoder matrix issue!
|
THX inc. Only with this matrix I can't encode movies.

Be aware EM that this GUI is actaully made for DVD sources and DVD-R target encodings! That was its purpose when It came out and many do misunderstand that ;-).
But as many members do whish also k(s)VCD output that means adding more resizing templates a different lmin parameter in mencoderin such a case and so on ... I did only test a 352x576 encoding at 800kbit approx. and the output was great, ... but all other testings where done on DVD targets using higher avgbitrate like 1500-3000kbit! |
