Don't hammer the site - I haven't asked his permission to post that link.

But it's VERY interesting - lots of pictures to show the diffs between each setting. I found the -sws diffs informative - seems like 3 and 8 are better than 6 or 7..

On the second etst page it's amazing to see how sws=8 screw up the chroma

It also gots that link and some other very nice infos according to filters postpand postprocessing in general of mencoder.

I made it now as a sticky as its very useful in case of mencoder and as we are "just" at the beginning to find optimal filter combinations/values
