OK i have been hearing this a lot lately and just assumed it was KSVCD,but now i don't know

Can someone tell me how to do this and what it is

I thought it was just choosing mpeg2 in MEncodeME(or whatever) and muxing as svcd but doesn't that make it a ksvcd

With the ""KVCD "Notch" matrix"", of course

Yes that's it
With a target of 352x480(576) or 480x480(576)

Hi:
If you are encoding mpeg2, and you multiplex it and burn it as SVCD, you will be making a SKVCD (no standard, of course). In case that you encode a mpeg1 and multiplex it as VCD but burn it as SVCD (no standard), you will be making a KVCD, but standalones will take it as SVCD. If you encode a mpeg1 and multiplex it as SVCD and burn it as SVCD (no standard), also you will be making a KVCD, but standalones will take it as SVCD.

BUT if you encode at 480x480(576) MPEG-2 with KVCD's Notch matrix, your SKVCD file WILL be standard SVCD once burned as SVCD
So it will play on every SVCD capable player

This one won't play. Mux as VCD and burn as SVCD or mux as SVCD and burn as VCD are no-no.

Dou you try it? As I know it could work. It depends of standalone (IMHO).

Several times, by mistake. Muxing as svcd in bbmpeg, but didn't recognise that in VCDEasy vcd is checked - standalone report "Play" on the screen, but there is no video nor audio. The opposite (VCD mux - SVCD authoring) gave the same result - again by mistake. . Now I don't remember if it was played with PowerDVD.
