Can't encode VOB with mono MP2
As the Topic.
I've a VOB file and the sound is mono MP2 and I can't encode this file with Pack-Shot and I also load this bat file in the Editor and I don't find a problem. Can you help me? |
Is the audio bitrate 80 Kbps ? If yes, that is not a standard bitrate.
What is the error reported by mencoder ? |
No it's from an original DVD so it's 192Kbps.
Where can I see the bug report of MEncoder? |
Open a Dos window by hand, go to mencoder directory and launch "engine\process.bat"
|
OK, I check this.
|
Maybe its because Besweet/Azid as default only accepts AC3/PCM as input ... I dont know if a mpa import filter for besweet is used.
That would be a "ToDo" for the future as I want to get AzidDTS working but as I know from the past ... WinDVD has to be installed for that. But there are new developings mentioned on the VideoLan.org site that a GPL DTS Decoder is maybe available. |
MEncoder sais "File/Device" not supported.
|
Thats really strange that "mencoder" reports that!
As I set to mencoders commandline a -nosound parameter, so the soundtrack will be ingnored. Therefore (IMHO) you got a strange DVD VOB "Video" stream |

Perhaps I can test to de-multiplex the VOB and then I encode with MEncoder and if Mencoder doesn't encode it's like you said. :( |

Maybe stupid of me to ask but have you allready demuxed the video stream out of the original vob?

Yes I have but MEncoder doesn't encode. And I don't know why. The only reason, perhaps, CBR???
|
IF even at Video only input that problem occurs than your source is flawed! IMHO!
Tell me about it ... means resolution mpeg1/2 ... CBR/VBR (Look at it using Bitrateviewer!) ... FPS ... etc etc etc BTW ...post the generated commandline!! |
It's a normal command-line produced with PACK-SHOT without filters and without audio, but if it helps I post it later.
The Video is from a DVD so there's a resolution of 720x576 MPEG-2 CBR the Audio is 224kbps MP2. The DVD is PAL. I think that's all. |
run the bat in your command prompt and show us what mencoder says or does it directly say File/Device not supported?

so you see the contents of your bat file. and directly after that File/Device not supported :? .
Mencoder doesn't say anything else before that :? in the manual there are some commands mentioned about how you can work arround some errors take a look in there maybe you'll find something |
OK I try to post a screenshot to show the whole command.
|
The email service spymac gives you 100mb free webspace you can acces with ftp it's not mega fast but for pics it's fast enough
|
I think I accidentally found out how you got that error :P .
I wanted to use that's not on my harddrive and ik gave the same error is the path in your bat correct :?: -Koekies |
