Looking back, a lot of the movies are still kinda sappy
but they were good at that time. I've been seeing many of these titles
on the kvcd aisle at blockbuster's. J/K. Kidding---before the replies start flying in

My faves are
Sixteen Candles
Weird Science
Pretty In Pink
About Last Night
Some Kind Of Wonderful
and
The Breakfast Club

That just about covers all the 'Molly Ringwald as the ordinary girl' movies

How about
Heathers
Revenge of the Nerds
Porkys
Animal House
Casual Sex
Pump up the Volume

Okay, I'll admit it...I'm pretty darn cheesey. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for all those 80's teen romps, regardless of how utterly sappy they are.

I think my favorite is probably Ferris Bueller's Day Off, followed by The Breakfast Club and Summer School. I also liked Patrick Dempsey's flicks, Can't Buy Me Love and Loverboy...these 2 seem to pop up in some pay-channel's rotation for a couple months every year. I've also caught myself watching some 80's movie called Just One Of The Guys on a few separate occasions after monotonously flipping through the channels...I can't even name any of the actors/actresses in that one! The kid from the Tom Hanks movie "Big" is in it...oh yeah, and the evil blonde-haired kid that Ralph Machio's character defeats with his signature crane-kick in The Karate Kidwas in it too.

Not Another Teen Movie did a pretty good job of spoofing all these 80's teen shows, as well as some of the more recent ones.

Summer School - another good one.... courtney thorne smith is still hot...
Can't Buy Me Love - wasn't Seth Green (aka Scott Evil - Austin Powers movies) in this one? He musn't been like 5 or so...always inhaling

OMG, HE LOOKED SO HORRIBLE in his arrest pics. I felt really bad.

He's had some great great roles too. Loved him in Beetlejuice and Ed Wood.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off is great... A friend at mine used to watch this movie every summer (they always played again). A really fun movie!

2 of my favorties are Valley Girl & Real Genius.

They are actually going to show Valley Girl here at Midnight at a local theatre and will hopefully show the Breakfast Club soon!

Later!
