Finally I undestood what is the problem of portuguese forum
 

Hi all,

Jorel seems to still have problems in portuguese forum (http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=40) and I finally figured out where the problem is :
#1 Does this forum needs so much moderators ?
#2 Do Alex_Matrix and Ginoboy really need to be granted with moderator privileges ?
#3 If they need to be moderators, why these two guys aren't on moderator's forum ?

I'm saying that because part of the problem comes from disagreement between the way the forum has to be managed and obviously Jorel and the two last guys don't have the same point of view at all ! Unfortunally, all the discussion we had last week never came to Alex_matrix and Ginoboy eyes.

:arrow: I suggest to let only jorel, rds_correia, vmesquita and myself as moderator of portuguese forum (and perhaps GFR and muaddib).

Agreed Phil & Jorel.
In that case let's use this thread to discuss our ideas and see which measures should be taken to try to improve the forum "readability".

Corriea is helping me a lot and is starting to feel in "his skin" how hard are the boys there. yesterday/today a user MR.Maker had 4 threads closed(one re opened) and send me a big pm offending me and i psot that pm in the forum.

alone i can't solve the comportamental problems of some members,Correia is helping in the last days and know the problems.
we pass all day long solving problems and i can't read anything outside portuguese forum cos just a few minutes after i log out , came like rain lots of confusions......take a look in that gyu: the open a new thread to discuss about legality and i "xeque-mate" doing his post as sticky and with an idea....i just ask to the boy and i'm still waiting his answers:
means: after read the will of the forums owner, do you still think convenient attend the forum and don't follow the orientations that he recommend?
means: do you think too that is correct and educated argue the position of the adiministrator in the forum that he pay all expenses?

now the magnific idea from davila to X2003:

only who can read in portuguese can feel what is happen there(i know you can Phil)....is the hard forum to work inside kvcd forum....the resistence is so big and we need mods that have firm positions to preserve that forum clean.

Karl ask me a few days if i want to remove some mods thwere....i answer.....

don't forget that i was ALONE fighting for the forum when everybody was argue my decisions and positions.

I thought that only moderators can do sticky ? Wasn't this modified recently ?

Just my 2 cents : you should not close and reopen a thread. Either a thread turns to be unrelevant and you close it definitively, or there is still something to say in the thread and so you let it open. If you continuously close a thead and reopen it later that gives a taste of "I decide that I will have the last word and nobody else".
That's also what I think : the guys that will be removed from the list will feel bad mood, but if this is necessary, just do it ! It's easy to talk with two people in a room but with ten people, this is nothing but noise and headaches !

I was going to PM you about this but since the subject is being discussed in this thread...

I agree with Dialhot's opinion, we have too much moderators in the Portuguese forum. I, for example, have the "privilege" but but I've never really moderated the forum. Sorry, but I don't have that much time (I access the forum from work - I should be working now :)) - In fact I read and post more at the main forums than at the Portuguese forum. And also I don't have jorel's patience :!: yes, patience.

I feel somewhat bad being a moderator, because of "having the power" to help jorel to keep things in order but not actually doing this - for the reasons above. Not only this, but I think having a bunch of moderators but only one or two taking the neccessary hard attitudes is no good for the authorithy of the "real" moderators. It's like "no other mod cares, it's just jorel that's a pain in the ass".

So, please feel free to revoke my moderator status, if you think it's better.

Of course, I'd still try to contribute by answering newbies, or PMing a mod if I find some post "suspicious", etc, as my possibilities allow, but without the responsibility of being a moderator.

You see, one day you might be browsing the forum, and no other moderator is around, and someone posts some Warez or illegal content, and you can just delete the post :)

That's what I was going to emphasize Karl.
Even being a passive Mod, GFR can still be a Mod at the PTG forum.
There won't be any problem with him since he doesn't browse the PTG forum that much ;-)

I do think (beside the count of mods in a forum):

- IF I am a guest in someones house I do RESPECT the owners whishes!
So if a disclaimer does point out very well the intention of a forum community (in here the "house") ... guests have to respect it - basta ;-).

Means if someone comes into the House wearing dirty shoes, ... its not the solution to discuss which cleaning substance should be used to clean the carped afterwards (in here - how deep should be the tolerance about downloaded movies). The soultion is to keep dirty-off-road-shoes (in here warez) OUT!

You point the real aspect of the problem : th moderator priviledges should be in hands of people that won't become too freaky because of the "power" that this will give to them. Being moderator is not for anybody and you are the example of perfect tempered guy.

And I'm not saying that because Karl asked me to be a global moderator :lol:

There are many forums where guys become mods due a temporal "extasy" by writing some guides. And that type of extasy could change alos to its other side -- you know what I mean. And for that "other side" kind of extasy there do not exist guides but rules :lol:

as i wrote, Guilherme is a cool guy and great mod.....and my friend after long pms and posts and favor to find articles of old magazines in Brasil,he always help me a lot:

In all forum or mailing list I moderate, I never asked to be moderator : the owners always asked me to become one when things went out or order. :lol:

I do not like to be moderator but I like clean places. And I don't mind to be "Leon, the professional" :-)
