Don't miss the new California-101
Hi you all,
As I go on developping California-101, little by little, I just want say a short "Hello" to you and give you (if necessary) a brand new yp for some great stations (MP3 and OggVorbis); The advantage of this yp is the new way of using the "cluster process"; If someone is listed there, and has both one server in MP3 and one in Ogg, the redundancy can be effective albeit the differences between the two technologies (which is great !). There's a forum, and you can get listed and check real good stations (I discovered some of them up there that I didn't know). So here is the address : http://iradiocast.com I think that's gonna be a real good one. ;) Friendly, François |

And I see that the majority there is ogg Vorbis :) BTW, I'm listening to a <45Kbps stream there now, not really my type of music :) , but the quality is really good: http://64.62.151.73:9144/soulfm.ogg Code:
Nominal bitrate : 36 kbps -Karl |
Hello Karl,
In fact, there should be twice as many Ogg streams....I just can't believe they're experiencing troubles now,...just when I posted the topic....Arggggg (eg : no California-101 either....LOL). It blows my mind, but I'm used to those crazy things. 8) This Station is part of the ones I discovered...It's special yeah, but interesting as for the programming aspect (soothing). You know, just like for Hertzian Stations, I don't really mind if there's only one channel (mono), mostly when the quality is very good (which is, in this particular case, the fact). I think you should find back many other stations in the next coming hours (tomorrow at the latest). As for my 64kbps Ogg stream, I found the sound to be a little bit "hissy" today...I don't really know why. Maybe my ears have changed... François |
Ooooops...My fault....I knew this station (and even bookmarked it, as it isn't really a "newborn" on the Net); I remember about their automation system : http://www.stationplaylist.com/
It's a good one anyway...But the question remains the same; How many people from the KVCD comunity, and listening to some audio streams, should be interested in a low bitrate California-101 ??? ah.... François |
