Just saw in the change log :

"- Notch Matrix replaced with BVCD matrix"

Thus, Diko does not apply KVCD spec (see in front pages), and IMHO can't use the "K" anymore in its name.

I just report, and let Karl see if he wants to discuss that with VM.

Thanks Phil.
If that's the case, V must remove the "KVCD/KDVD" permission he got from us.
I guess hell have to rename his product to "DIBO", or something else
I'll watch that closely, and he'll probably receive an E-Mail from us very soon.

Said in neutral opinion/way ....

VM should check those TmpgEnc Templates as the Ultra Bitrate Ones do got a DC Precision of 10, I didnt checked the CCE ones.

I checked the Matrix, it does significantly cut more high frequencies. Thats why it results in more compression (just imho). To obtain an even more higher compression on KVCD/Bach1 etc. just replace the values of the last 2 right side columns to 99. But thats only a workflow if a simple TV set is your target or if captures are the source as a cut of highFreqs is highly visible at recent TV Sets.

The big tricky issue on a matrix is not only how much it compresses, but also how the Q curve results, that should be checked in BV. I didnt testet that BVCD Matrix till now so that above is just said generally

Simply the "K" meant "Kdvd". The tools does not encode KDVD anymore as it uses an other matrix (I did not say it was worse or better - I never tested Diko). So the tool should not use the "K" in it's name.

But I think the best thnk to do is to suggest to VM to add an option in its tool alllowing to use whatever matrix you want.

Hi Vinicius,

Please remove the "K" from DIKO, or find another name for the "K" name in DIKO so it doesn't mean KVCD/KDVD, as it always has.
As you no longer support "KVCD" in DIKO, as you have substituted the notch matrix for something else, you no longer have the rights and permission to use KVCD/KDVD name in your software.

Thanks,
KVCD.Net

Yes. Everything is fine now.

> If you find any reference that I forgot to remove, let me know and I'll do it. As far as I am aware, you don't own the "K" letter, so I can use the name DIKO as long as I wish (even because I invented the name), unless it means something to do with KVCD, which no longer happens.

That's all we asked for. That the "K" didn't refer to KVCD/KDVD, so there are no problems or conflicts anymore.

Thanks,
-Karl
