Hi Jorel,

Regarding the first thread I think ux-3's reply was an attempt at humour not really an attack, Josiba didn't seem to take offense to it.

The second thread I have to agree with Winxi, Cooter01 is asking how to cut the mpeg file. True something has gone wrong and an extra large mpeg has been created resulting in an extra large bin file but he did not ask why this had happened ( that is to say maybe a bug in dvd2svcd ) he did ask how to cut an mpeg file.

I can see how this could be easy to misunderstand if your first language is not english, I only speak english and so would have the same problems understanding spanish as the grammar is different.

I think it is a cultural thing, this not to say anyone is right or wrong just different based on there background and the country they grew up in.

For instance some people thik that when they come to Australia they will see Kangaroos hopping down city streets, not so we ran them all over long ago  Just kidding.

It seems that to them itīs more important where the question is, than what the problem is, but hey, itīs the way they choose to do and itīs okay by me.
This forum wipes the floor with them though, people here are friendly and helpful, itīs like talking to a close friend here!

Salut to all of you!

That's why I don't visit that forum very often :?
Every answer it's a "raw" answer. I do give credit to some of the developers there who have done excelent work on filters, etc. But some have "serious" attitude problems
So I guess KVCD.Net is about "Quality", and not "Quantity"
And THAT'S what makes the difference :!:

Sadly I feel I will have to put this hobby aside shortly, our second baby is due in 3 1/2 weeks and me thinks I will have little spare time for anything other than sleep

CheronAph 03-10-2003 12:59 PM

UTec,,
Kongratulations on the latest addition. Hope all goes well, and the baby comes out healthy and with all eleven toes. :D j/k.
I just finished kvcd'ing all my baby's first years.
If she doesnt let you capture the birth, tell her that its for kvcd research purposes.
Wonder who will be the first to name their baby Kwag, or Baby KVCD ?

My take on the different forums that are out there is that they seem to be very propietary. Kwag has done an excellent job at fostering a community, a sort of renegade cult :), welcoming those with an open mind and willing to learn , no matter what stage of the game , of video production or re-production they or one's at.
With that being said, they (D9) do get a tons of inquiries, and anyone who has done HelpDesk-type of support after a while gets a tad annoyed with what they call 'newbie questions'. The stock answer is 'search'. Thank you and buh-bye. But hardly anyone suggest 'this is How you should conduct your search.......'. Anyway, for the most part i tried to respect the talent pool at individual forums, and admire and Kwag for his outstanding contribution. He's made history already.
Now, someone get me a beer. :D

zTr,,,

Congratulations urban tec :D ,

Remember to save all your VCD coasters, so you can tie them up with nylon strings, and make a "mobile" to hang high above the crib
Serious :!: , i've seen them around the net
Then put a little spotlight and watch the room fill up with rainbow like colors

Well said, I have spent years in support and I know exactly what you mean, it is very easy to get jaded.

As for tapeing the birth it will be a caesarean, not sure if it would make good TV
