1. Hana-Bi (Takeshi Kitano is such a great actor, I love that man. And I love Japanese Films, too good. A reviewer said this about Hana-Bi: "A film, which expresses more in five minutes, than any other US Film has done in at least ten years".)

2. Samurai Fiction (A Japanese One, again. With great actors and Characters)

3. Lolita ( With Jeremy Irons. I heard the original from Kubrick shall be better, but I didn't watched it yet)

4. Gonin (Again a Japanese One with Takeshi Kitano, my favourite actor)

5. Hime Mononoke a.k.a. Princess Mononoke ( Anime at its best. Hayao Miyazaki created one of the best Anime's EVER, could easily be on top of my list, if the other films weren't that good. )

6. Jin-Roh - The Wolf Brigade ( Very good Anime, with a very profound plot. One of the best Anime's.)

7. A Nightmare before Christmas (I love those Films !!! All this happy singing, but still it make sense. The prevailling Mood is so good)

8. Legend of Drunken Master ( A Jackie Chan Classic, the fighting scenes are very impressive. And the Storyline is also not bad. It's the Best Jackie Chan Film of all time)

9. Project B a.k.a. Project A Part II ( Another Jackie Chan Classic. I love the ambience of the film. And also a nice plot.

10. Ringu a.k.a. The Ring ( The Japanese Original is WAY better than the U.S. remake, This Film really embodies Horror. Such a scary prevailling Mood. It's a pity, that the German Dub is so bad. You better watch it in Japanese with subtitles. )

11. The last Unicorn (I love that film, for its emotions. The Story is so good )

I really recommend to watch these Films. They're great. My taste is very sophisticated, that's why I don't like all that Hollywood things, that doesn't mean, that I don't watch films from the US at all, but they just cannot compare to the films that I listed (Lolita with Jeremy Irons is an exception). Movies like "Lord of the Rings" are great films by mainstream means, but they just cannot stand films like "Hana-Bi or "Gonin".
