The Pianist

Anyone see the DVD movie: "The Pianist" ??? I believe that's the first time ever in movie making history, that a real city was destroyed...just so it could be used in a movie scene. The director's attention to detail was extraordinary. The last time I was personally in Warsaw, half the city was still in ruins, and of course this movie just brings it all back again.

I just saw this last night and this is by far the best movie I've ever seen. I also liked how the scrolling movie credits were superimposed onto the zoom-in shot of the pianist's hands as he played the piano solo (don't cut the end credits off this one)

...wonder how "Schindler's List" would have turned out, had Polanski accepted Spielberg's offer and directed it.

Hi all..

I'm a fan of Motzart and List among others of Classical pieces.. but how
was the music in this Movie ??

Armadaious (spelling) keeps me comming back for more (when they air
it on Satellite TV) I haven't ben able to find it on DVD yet. Anyways..

I was just curious about the Music and all, for a 2+ hour Moive.

I had it in my hands, but laid it back down last week. Maybe I'll pick it up
this week. Question.. did the DVD box say ..Digitally Mastered ?? ??

Thanks guys,
-vhelp

agreed

Another hat in the ring.

Yes.. a masterpeice of a movie. Goes to show if the director is allowed artistic freedom, you dont need a "name" actor. (Just some good ones)
