I got this a couple of weeks ago:
http://www.beermachine.com/ (the model 2000, is what I got)

And I just poured my first glass, after waiting 10 days for the brewing process
But all I can say is that it tastes
And it was WELL worth the wait
Now i'm a little

Edit: This was my first brew: http://www.beermachine.com/files/au.html (the Golden Ale )

I hope that brewing process ended up in a linear quantisation curve or do you see blocks now after inserting yourself a couple of glasses

After 2 glasses, I saw blocks everywhere, and I went "linearly" straight to bed

Is it really worth the trouble to do one's own?
A case of Corona's is going for almost $ 12 cdn--which is about $3 usd..

You bet it is
Look at the prices on the mixes, for example here: http://www.beermachine.com/files/us.html
Each pack makes 28 bottles of 12 ounces each.
And the taste is unbeatable
I'm also reading on this one, which is way cheaper (~$39.00)
www.mrbeer.com
Looks like a very basic system, but for the price, it might be worth a try
But I can say that the "Beer Machine" is really good
