i need a faster and precise answer:

why someone download movies from internet ?

Because:

(1) They are lazy (vagos).
(2) They don't know how to encode video.
(3) They don't care about quality (or have poor eye sight) (ciegos!).
(4) They have a miniature 5" TV set.
(5) They have fast internet access, and can "suck" (maman, chupan) all they want :lol:
(6) They don't know what KVCD is :!:
(7) Add more here ......... :mrgreen:

Actually having a computer + a hight speed network link does not enter in my definition of beeing "poor".

When my sister came into my fridge to find some food for my 2 nephews, you can trust me, she didn't dled movies in the meantime.

Well, depends :!:
Cable modem in the states is now ~49.00 per month for 3Mbps 8O
So that's cheaper than buying ~3 DVDs.
So yes, for some people with that speed (for that price), they actually can suck bandwidth from the net, downloading all kinds of stuff.
Here in P.R., with the damn monopoly of the phone company, ADSL costs $60.00 for 256Kbps Downlink/128Kbps Upload :x

Even if you have the original DVD it's ILLEGAL to DL an avi version of a movie. So this "no dvd-rom" excuse is just a crap.

The movie you DL is illegaly ripped and distributed by a person commiting a fellony. And thus, you can be charged with "concealing" of illegaly obtained things.

In France, this can lead you up to 2 years in jail and 25000 $US ticket.

Any volonteer ?

1 - How about stydy or scientist reasons?
2 - How about 24 hs. deleting?
3 - How a legal DVD owner can get your DVD copy if don't know how to make it. If somebody make it for him, is a felony too?
4 - Is any DVD copy not equal than original (like we makes in here with avisynth, scripts, etc.) a legal copy?

I don't understand why somebody can't download a copy of your own DVD. Download is for free. If i don't know how to make DVD copies, i should pay for this ones.

Scripting, enhaces video or makes smaller file sizes. Really I don't know if it is legal or not. Like you answer me with questions...

That is incorrect, and it's a fallacy. It's illegal, because it's the law :!: That's a gray area.
Under the "Fair Use" law, you can make a copy for personal backup purposes.
But then, the DMCA circumvents (or tries to!) the Fair Use law :!:
But then, if you want to copy your DVD, which the DMCA says it's illegal because you're decrypting the DVD, then you can copy your DVD from the S-Video connector because that's Analog, and the DMCA doesn't apply.
But then they'll say that you broke Macrovision protection ( which is analog ), but if you use a Time Base Corrector to stabilize the video, you filter it.
So LEGALLY, you CAN copy a DVD this way, and NOBODY can say anything about it, because DMCA rules on DIGITAL content, and what you have on your S-Video cable, is analog. So, there's a little loophole, which anyone can use, and say that they copied their DVD this way, and they don't have to say that it was ripped ;)
