AUDIO AND VIDEO problems WATCHING ON TV, but not computer?

I do what I usually do to make a KVCd and usually it is great. THis time I had black boxes showing up in the black background, and no audio, some of the scenes were pixalted too,

my source is 29.97 fps.

my script

AviSource("E:\movie.avi")
BlindPP(cpu=4)
Blockbuster(method="noise",detail_min=1,detail_max =3,variance=0.1,seed=1)
Convolution3D(1, 6, 12, 6, 8, 2.8, 0)
GripCrop(352, 288, overscan=1, source_anamorphic=false)
GripSize(resizer="LanczosResize")
Undot()
TemporalSoften(2,7,7,3,2)
DCTFilter(1,1,1,1,1,1,0.5,0)
GripBorders()

when I play the avs in the wmp there is also audio which is strange. Usually I don't get audio when playing the script.

Can someone tell me what is wrong?

1/ the boxes in the black background can be avoided by using the second blockbuster line in my V4 script.

2/ the pixel in some scene is due to a lack of bitrates. You must increase the max video bitrate or reduce the min video bitrate you use in order to have more bit available to encode these scnes. Which value did you used for min ? arg ? max video bitrate ?

3/ you have audio because you didn't use ",false" at the end of the avisource line

4/ impossible to tell you why you don't have audio as you dint give any clue on what you do to produce the audio in your KVCD !

I used Black Prince's guide.

min is 300
max is 1500

what should I increase the bitrates to? 1800 max or 2100 max? do I leave the min as 300?

I changed to 800 min & 1850 max and it got worse. I ended up wth blue and red boxes flashing up on the screen in the black background and through out the movie. I've chaned to 300 min & 1150 max. Its weird . the original file I am backing up doens't have these red & blue boxes appearing, and after converting to mpg the sound is perfectly in sync and the only problem is the bakcground. Please help!!! I'm nearly there

800 min is WAY TO MUCH ! Except is your standalone needs it (there are some). I told you to REDUCE the min :!: :banghead:

On the PC ? Or on the burnt CD ?

1150 mx is WAY TO LOW ! I told you re INCREASE the max :!: :banghead:

There is NO reason to have this except if you source is crappy as hell. Nothing in what you do, I do mean NOTHING, gives such result.
Except if you are talking about the burn CD and in this case that means that you have a bad CD brand :-)

I tried 300 min & 1800 max and don't get sound desync but blue and red boxes on the end product, and its severely pixalted. The red boxes show up on the pc and pixels on the tv. When I played the 1st one I burned the mpg didn't play smoothly, it would pause itself and continue then completely stop . Can someone either show me a prog that calcuates the min and max or tell me how to calculate this? I'm getting desperate. I've been encoding all day and I'm getting nowhere.

I answered you in two other threads : THRE IS NOTHING TO CALCULATGE MIN AND MAX !

The min must be set as low as possible according to what your STANDALONE can read. Nothing can calculate that :!: Only tests and experiment. This minimum is fixed and don't have to be changed for each source.

For instance my player read very well 64 Kbps so I encode everythging with this minium.

The maximum can't be calculate either but it's just a matter of habit : it depends only on the length of the movie you have.

The greater value is 2500 and you can use it for a 1h30 movie on a CD80.
For a 1h45 movie, use 2300.
For a 2h00 movie, use 2000.
For something above, use 1800.

You just have to understand that the longer is the movie, the shorter must be the bitrate range (MAX-MIN) to obtain decent average quality. But fur sur, the lower is the MAX, the worst is the quality of action scenes.

When I do a TV show with no action scenes (friends) I even use 1300 as maximum and I fit 2h40 on a CD with no problem !

As I told you : all is matter of habit and experiment. You say you are going nowhere ? That's not true : you are taking experience !

Note: for your red boxes I as explained to you there is NOTHING that can gives you that just because you changed the bitrate so somethign is definitely screwed on your PC :!!

Note2: sound desynh has also NOTHING to do with the video bitrate so PLEASE stop to mix up the two problems :!: Do one thing at a time and DON'T encode the video and the audio together :!:

okay when I changed that max to 2300 & min still 300 this is in my tok log

Forget Tok.

Tok is a tool we used when Dinosaurs rules the Earth and I don't see any recently, did you ? ;-)
Let concentrate on CQmatic. And more over let's close this thread as you are double posting anywhere and it's boring to see your same question again and agin. Just go to the other thread.
