KVCD: Pioneer users amd KVCDx3
Hi everyone.
There is no contest that KVCDx3 is amazing quality, but i'm wondering, if someone had success to make the KVCDx3 works out on pioneer. I have a DV-525, and, i'm trying to do a kvcdx3 as Video-cd Mpeg1, without burinig as SVCD. I've already tried the settings in FitCD ( use 544X480 3/4 full, small, change blocks overscan ) but still no success. So, i just wanna know if someone know how can i make a KVCDx3, that fit the hole screen, as mpeg-1, burning as VCD. Thanks in adv  Pacodoni 8) |

I have the DV-340 and I have found the following to work with the correct screen size and playback (NTSC):
MPEG1 352x240 704x480 720x480 MPEG2 352x480 480x480 528x480 704X480 I find the image quality is not as high in the higher rezs using Mpeg2 than Mpeg1 but the differences are pretty slight on a tv. Darvin |
I've used the KVCDx3 template with my pioneer 343 without any changes and it works just fine. You have to burn as an SVCD though (encode in mpeg1 not 2 - just burn as SVCD with VCDeasy).
I did it once using FitCD as Kwag described, but I've also done it without FitCD and it still came out alright. |

This way you did also works, burning as SVCD, it does a similar process, i've tried to, think that maybe works better than encoding with mpeg-2 and mpeg-1 after, but, in my case i couldn't use cause i have two different standalones, and one of them don't liks SVCD, freezing when you hit PLAY button. So, because of this problem, i had to do the encoding with mpeg 2 and after mpeg 1, cause it gets more generic, adn acceptable in my material. C ya  Pacodoni 8) |
