It will play KVCD NTSC 352x480 fine. Not sure if it will play KVCD PAL 352x576.

About DIVx, read Q-24 here: http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=68

I bought my mom one of these and it played your HBO-Cap sample #1 one time and ever since then it doesn't play any vcds anymore but it plays dvds just fine. There is quite a heavy layer of dust (actually its tile grout) on top of it though- oops!

hey,

How old is your Sony NS300? I've only been able to get this player to play two brands of cdr and they both happened to be bluish plastic. Many others are reporting this same problem too:http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.ph...arch&#comments
Which brand of cdr works best for you?

thanks,
ren

Hi Ren:

I have played "Prime Peripherals" and "Imation" CD-RW's.
The player is excelent, but as you say, VERY picky on CD-R brands. I bought a box of 200 CD's "ValueDisc" brand, the ones being sold at OfficeMax. They don't work
So if you have a Sony DVD player, this ValueDisc won't work!.
Just so that everyone knows.
