i find the idea of fitting a whole film on 1 cd great so i have been using the pal KVCD CQ PAL 352x288 PLUS template. however although the films play fine on my pc thru the tv out, when i try to play it on my pioneer 340 whenever the the bitrate lowers (screen turns black etc...) the audio stutters. now i've read a few posts about this and how the minimum bitrate has to be such and such. however i just tried to do a film with the minimum bit rate at 800 and the max at 1200 and it still jumps, what is the deal? help please.

I have the same problem with my pioneer 340.
Try to remux with Bbmpeg. This runs for me, and not only for kvcd. Runs whit CVCD and other templates with VBR too.

StarWars KVCD 352x288 plus, widescreen, 650~1300. Source is a Divx 352x288. Audio is jumping at first, but i solved this remuxing with Bbmpeg. 1h58m in one 80m CD.

If your player supports SVCD, then go for the SKVCD. You'll get 60+ minutes on a single CD-R with quality very close to a SVCD, when viewed on a HDTV. On regular TV's, there won't be any difference between the two. Just burn as a SVCD. It should play in just about any player that plays SVCD.
