'lo,

kvcd templates works only at 352x288 (bitrate from 300 to 2500, sound's great using toolame external tool).
No mpeg2 working certainly due to SVCD incompatibility.

Tried all other resolutions but "failed" :
sound's great, on video appears lots of colored blocks (green). When I look at picture by picture, some of them are perfect. Perhaps due to bitrate, i'll try to up low birate or to use CBR.

UPDATE : successfully encoded "8mm" (119min) with kvcd_352x288_PAL+ -> 798 Mo = 1 80min CD
Quality is great (lots of black scenes, no many action scenes)
!

Hi 'Z,

Try the KVCDx3, but change the resolution from 528x to 544x. It might work

Hi,

yesterday i've tried all the resolutions in CBR 1150kbps -> same results...
I think SD100 only accepts 352x288...

Kwag you can update your DVD compatibility :
- Toshiba SD-100 S (pal version) : kvcd and kvcdx2 are ok only at 352x288.

So i've to change my dvd player

I'd like to buy the new Toshiba SD-220 E (pal version).
Did someone tested kvcd on that player ?

I have a Toshiba 220E (Pal) and did some tests to find out which resolutions it supports.

I've tested all resolutions used by kwag's templates using MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 and mutliplexed each video file as VCD and SVCD. Burned on several disks once as VCD and another time as SVCD with the following results:

Using MPEG-1 it supports 352x288 and maybe 704x576 if multiplexed as VCD(non standart) and burned as VCD. The later results in lots of green block but maybe a highter bitrate (used 1150kBit) will "fix" that. So KVCD 352x288 (Plus) template will work. I've not tested the KVCDx2 templates until now ...
All other resolutions results in no visible video (can hear audio) or a strange video display (twice in the top half of the tv screen and the bottom half is a single green colored block).

For MPEG-2 it seems to support 480x576, 704x576 and 720x576 if multiplexed and burned as SVCD. Both KVCDx3 resolutions (528x576 and 544x576) results in the same strange results decribed above.
I've not tested the SKVCD or KVCDx3-MPEG2 templates until now.

Any ideas? Are there variants I may have missed?

Holger
