BSPlayer

My BSPlayer, when I try to play 704*480/576 mpg crash.
Does somebody know why?

Dialhot 01-03-2005 09:41 PM

you think the problem comes from the resolution or from the mpg format ?

Other mpeg2 resolutions plays fine.

I don't tested mpeg1, I have not it from many time ago, but I will encode a short sample.

Well does VLC play avs or IFO files like MPC ? ;)

I do use VLC for DVB pva stream playback as I do need the brigtness and contrast/saturation settings which are very comfortable in VLC.

For general Playback I do use MPC (Zoomplayer is also very good).
In mpc I also can force to use "override" which inserts directshowfilters etc if a decoding via ffdshow is not wanted. You can capture using MPC, playing back DVDs (open the IFO directly). AND also like Zoomplayer watching the dshow filter chain. Correct PARs etc etc etc.

Related to the non capable 704x576 mpeg2 output here my guess:
Thats a common resolution which will be recognised by the Systems Overlay, means the directdraw routines will work immediately when played back. Try also 384x388, 352x288, 720x576 these are also common by directdraw recognised resolutions.

So .... Reinstall DirectX *imho*
