DVD player clock stopped counting?

hi there.

here's the deal:

ripped the dvd.
made .avs file with paranoia.
set up a project file with tmpgenc.
predicted cq with cqtest.
encoded video.
muxed with tmpgenc.
burnt with vcdeasy.

when playing with my dvd player, movie time ran from beginning to end in few seconds (0:00:00->1:39:35). that few second movie played normally but when clock reached the end of the movie it stopped.

weird is that I made a kvcd disc few days ago with all the same steps and it worked great... except i'm not sure if those two movies had exactly the same max/min bitrate set in tmpgenc so could that be where it went wrong?

does this sound familiar? has this happened before?

thanks.

(hope you understand even a little bit.. i'm fucking tired and my brains ain't working)

It is common to have the clock on the display that is totaly meaningless with a KVCD but not like you describe.

Muxing ? maybe. What parameter did you use ?

mpeg-1 non-standard

No idea then

Try to mux with mplex (select "MPEG-1" in the settings) :

does mplex really do non-standard files? (yes, mpeg-1 was checked.)
'cos vcdeasy is showing my file nearly 800mb... (yes. "check mpeg compliance" is unchecked.)
