I ran Kwag's new compatibility Cd on my APex AD-1100W:

kvcd-ulbr - PASSED
kvcd-lbr - PASSED
kvcd-352x240 PLUS - PASSED
kvcd-352x480 PLUS - FAILED
kvcd-704x480 PLUS -FAILED
kvcdx3 528x480 -FAILED

Kwag- How about making a sample with 29.97 fps? I assume the samples are all 24 fps.

352x480 & 480x480 @ 23fps will work if you use MPEG-2 / KVCDx3, just change the resolution. I am currently using 352x480 because I can turn the CQ up a bit higher and it looks and works great..............

I can't do MPEG-2 except with my tv capture card. I have pretty good quality with MPEG-1 and will stick with that

Capture MPEG-2 at 352x480 at a very high bit rate, and then transcode with TMPEG using the templates.

Thanks, will try.

I do get decent tv captures using WinDVR2 @ 1600k MPEG-1.

Yes, me too . WinDVR is the best capture software program I've seen.

I compared Windvr with powervcr and powervcr was bad bad compared to windvr.

I will try recording at 352x480 mpeg2 with windvr then convert it to LBR KVCD for fun

I tried some different variations of KVCDx3 and no-go for my player. I tried different frame rates and bitrates....

Have to stick to 352x240, so Kwag, don't quit improving the 352x240 templates!
