Progressive DVD Player
I currently have a Sanyo DWM-370 (cheap and great so far) but I've got an HDTV now and need to make the jump up to a progressive player. I had read in this forum that people recommend the Panasonic CP72.
I'm not so sure I want a changer though -- I'd much rather have a player that is a single disc load -- partly because I don't really need a changer (though it'd be nice for multiple disc copies) but mainly because they're more expensive ;) I was wondering if anyone out there has a good quality progressive player to recommend to me. It needs to be able to play both (X)VCD's and (X)SVCD's and handle at least a 2500kbps stream.. CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R/W isn't so big (as I don't have a DVD-R yet) and neither is MP3 playback.. I have a substantial collection of burned movies and would like to still be able to watch them all (the Sanyo is GREAT for this! Plays EVERYTHING!). I'm looking for something in the sub-$200 range.. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

Then pick the best/price player. That's what I do  -kwag |
Sony 715P
Go with the Sony 715P. I tried several over Christmas and found it to be the best. It will play anything I give it and as a bonus it has a builtin hardware block noise reduction filter with 3 settings. I could not believe the quality. My advice - Sony 715P.
