Hi Kwag,

Tried all the KVCD & KVCDx2 templates on the JVC XV-S302 and it works!
But the movies have to be encoded as MPEG-2 and burned as non-standard SVCD

(load the template and set the "Stream type" in "Settings - Video" to "MPEG-2 Video" in TMPGenc)

KVCDx3 still shows problems (flickering green/purple blocks at the bottom of the screen. Picture & Audio 100% perfect .. still testing ...)
p.s. if anybody knows why this is (and has the solution ofcourse ) msg me plz!

Thought it was worth mentioning sinds most of the templates work

greetings

JJ

btw. When I look at the people who have problems with KVCD as a burned non-standard VCD I notice that when they remux it and burn it as a non-standard SVCD, all the problems seem to be solved (just like in my situation) Example :

Quote:
Samsung DVD-P421 KVCD test results:

Burned "bug" sample, no changes as non-compliant VCD.
Result: Green macro blocks covering 80% of the picture, desynced sound.

Burned "bug" sample, TMPGEnc reencoded to x240, non-compliant VCD.
Result: Normal picture, but frame and sound skips.

Burned "bug" sample, remuxed with BBMpeg to SVCD, burned as SVCD.
Result: Perfect picture, perfect sound. Synchrony!

The final test looked great, and as far as I can tell, is perfect.
The reason I bring this up is 'cause I have two questions regarding this :
1) do you have any idea why this is ?
2) what's the difference between a (for example) KVCDx2 movie encoded as an MPEG-2 and burned as a non-standard SVCD and SKVCD ?
(I d/l the "farscape" sample and it doesn't look nearly as crisp as a KVCDx2 movie encoded as a MPEG-2 and burned as a non-standard SVCD)

btw2. interesting is that (only if you made the farscape sample from the dvd) my KVCDx2 movie (Con Air) converted/burned as non-standard MPEG-2/SVCD looks much much much better (near dvd-quality) then your "farscape" sample. This brings me to another question :
you say that divx 2 kvcd(x2/x3) gives bad results but I noticed when it's a good DivX rip, the KVCD looks near DVD aswell!! on what did you based your opinion (no offence )

Hi itsjapie,
You're probably doing PAL, am I correct?.
If you are, that's why your results are better than the samples, because you have a higher resolution that NTSC.
