I tested the player in 352x240 CQ 78 and it played very well...
I'm now burning a VCD in 352x240 CQ 74 hopefully no biggie from CQ 78.

I assume your using this Template:
KVCD-CQ-352x480-_NTSCFilm_-PLUS.mcf

THANKS.

Whats the difference between changing
KVCD-CQ-352x480-_NTSCFilm_-PLUS.mcf to 352x240 OR
KVCD-CQ-352x240-_NTSCFilm_-PLUS.mcf TEMPLATE right off the bat.??

THANKS......

It did get better by upping the minimum bit rate and lowering the resolution, but I want better quality than that. The picture quality of the new Beta template is fantastic, but those video skips are driving me crazy. Maybe its time to quite and get the Sony NS315 or similar that will work.
I assume your referring to VIDEO / SIZE setting "resolution to 352*240"

THANKS for the NEWBIE question.

I have some VCDs that work fine just not sure their specs. I'll try tonite using VCD NTSC ( I noticed the only difference is the Frame Rate - 1 on NTSCFilm and 4 on NTSC). Does that ring any bell to anyone?
Help is appreciated
Thanks,
When you say " Try VCD NTSC instead of VCDFilm template " where
are you making this change??

THANKS...

Thanks a lot, kwag!

I burned it to a CD-RW to test it and it works great!
The VBV buffer adjustment to 48 worked!

Now it's perfect!
I'm going to use this template more often.
Is the ADVANCED / SOURCE range suppose to be UNCHECKED??
Maybe you could post your most recent run with ALL your settings.....

THANKS.....

Thank you so much! I have finally found a working KVCD template for this player! You can add this informating to your player compatibility page.

I just encoded the full movie of Alien Resurrection, which is 104min. long, into a single 650MB KVCD LBR PLUS. The encoding specs. were:

PAL KVCD LBR PLUS (352x28
22 CQ_VBR
112kbit Audio

This might work the same using the NTSC template (352x240). I might test it using a CD-RW. (Got to go back to Office Depot).

Thank you so much kwag!
This really is great! Saves me tons of CDs for other movies and still gives me sweet quality! Everyone that is using this player should try this method out, and tell me what you think. Or, you can go and test the NTSC template for me.

I tried using the KVCD-LBR-352x288-_PAL_-PLUS.mcf template for my RCA 5240 and when I load it into my player it says " NO DISC ". Could you please post either ALL you settings ( I assume there's a file in TMPGE that shows this ) OR as many of them that would show the settings needed. Here's a little EXCEL template I made to show the settings:

That's not a template problem. That's a media issue. Try another CD-R brand.

THANKS for the reply KWAG. I had to go into NERO and change ( Check DETERMINE MAX SPEED AND Under the VIDEO CD tab Check PAL to burn in NERO )... This made it burn ok AND worked.

Hey Neo,
I downloaded the KWAG TEST CD and on my RCA-5240P #1-5 work and #6 is scrambled so I informed KWAG that he can update the DVD Player list to include 704x480(576) as WORKING.

TAKE CARE......

Is any one using the RCA 5215P player? Mine cannot play KVCDs at all. I have tried 3 different disc brands, both C-R and CRW, but the player does not like the segments at all!!!!!!!! It randomly plays vcds.
Thanks

I used the KVCDx2-CQ-704x480-_NTSCFilm_-PLUS.mcf template on Gone In 60 seconds and the move plays GREAT but the video skip EVERY 2 SECONDS. I changed the VBV buffer to 48 and that didn't fix it for me. Any suggestions??

THANKS...
