After playing around with making KVCD's I have concluded the following:

It appears to be similar in operation to Apex players.

29.97 fps works best for no jitter with VCD, SVCD, KVCD

KVCD resolution sthat work are 352 x 240 and 544 x 4480

24 fps works sometimes with 352 x 240 but i get jitter on different discs and it is fussy.

This is one of the best dvd home theater bargains around. $200 average price. DOlby Digital, Pro-Logic and Matrix 5.1

So far, my best results are with MPEG-2 SVCD 480 x480 or CVD 352 x 480 @ 24 fps.

MPEG-1 @ 24 fps stutters............

MPEG-1 @ 29.97 will play fine but every now and then I get some nasty block errors from what looks like a read error and not disc error. My SVCD's do not have this problem and play smoooooth.
