KVCD on Pioneer Dv-343 ?

I own this model, and apparently looking at the list of compatible players everything should work great. I have a skvcd encoded file that i burnt to a cd to test but it plays poorly and stutters/skips all the time. Any idea what i'm doing wrong? I didn't encode it myself so i can't tell you anything about the encoding methods, except that it's supposed to be skvcd and other people who have skvcd compatible players get it to work. I used nero, chose svcd and burnt the file (after turning off standard compliance). Should I be doing something else? tried this twice, still stutters..

thanks!

Hi simba115,

It's better to encode a sample yourself and try it out. I think your model plays 352x240 and 704x480 MPEG-1, but for other resolutions, you must encode as MPEG-2.

just want to check with you kwag - are you saying that at the point of burning in nero we select svcd and burn as non standard ?

i have the back to the future films recently released as kvcds and they all play but are only showing on LHS 2 thirds of the screen

i dont mind losing the extras so if i can extract the mpeg and reburn as a non standard svcd should this play ok

i have the same prob with a couple of films released as mpegs which i thought should have played full screen but dont

any advise as always is appreciated

thanks
