I have a KVCD filethat will not playback on my dvd player even though it DOES support KVCD's, maybe it was made in another way, but anyway...

...i first converted it from the bin file to an .mpg vcd file with VCDGear (with error checking enabled). Then, i cut it to about 10mins (~120MB) with tmpgenc so i can burn it fast on a cd-rw to keep checking if it works (BTW when i loaded the file in the merge/cut box in tmpgenc it automatically recognized it as an "MPEG2 PROGRAM (VBR), that's the problem maybe?). Then, i tried burning the mpeg as a non-standard vcd with nero. And it STILL does not want to play...anyone know what im doing wrong?

Based on that information, my guess would be that your file is MPEG-2 and you are burning as a VCD, which uses MPEG-1. Your player will choke on that. If that's the case, try burning as SVCD and see what happens.

I did as you suggested, and i was really expecting it to play, but unfortunately it does the same thing as if burning it in its original state. Damn green pixelated screen with choppy playback.

Any other suggestions?

If the Source bin was a Xvid, then I would suggest to re-encode the source to an MPEG1 VCD using TMPEGEnc ,(After weeks of trying to convert to MPEG2 SVCD and burning, and getting the same green image as you, I GIVE UP with that. The suggested method is the only way it worked out for me using XviD's) feed the resulting Mpg to VCD Easy and make an image, then burn with nero, in nero, VERY IMPORTANT : close off the wizard window, click file and select burn image,(don't select nero's encoding, it's doesn't handle that function very well, which may be the root of the prob as it re-encodes when you burn) and go to the folder that VCD Easy created the bin in, and burn.
Hope this helps.

Let me know what the source bin was , check with IsoBuster to open it and see what the folder shows the source to be, (MPEG,AVI,XVID? ) as this will help somewhat to determine what's goin on.
