Pioneer DV-525
Well,
I made an KVCD-template in 253x288 PAL. Burned it with VCD-easy at 8X. The mpg-file was about 650MB. When i played the CD in my Pioneer DV-525, the picture quality was wery good, but the sound was delayed from start to end. It increased through the film. The sound also glitched recurly. Im gonna try a solution that racaboy recomended for his Pioneer 636-D. dogbert  |
Hello agian.
Been doing a test with MVBR instead of CQ and changed VBV. This combination worked better, but the filesize was bigger than CQ-mode. Then i read a topic in the forum about KVCD with DVD2SVCD. http://www.kvcd.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=306 Doing some test with this combination. Surprise, Suprice. I figured out that my Pioneer DV-525 don't like MPEG1-files as good as MPEG2-files. I forgot to change to MPEG1 in DVD2SVCD, and encoded a file with MPEG2 instead of MPEG1, same settings as an MPEG1-CQ. But the problems with the sound that occurd in KVCD-CQ-PAL dissaperd. No crispy sound. With this combination of KVCD-DVD2SVCD i theoretical calculated that i could fit about 146 min. on an 80 min. CD-R. I only encoded a chapter from a DVD (7min and 19sec). It ended up in approximately 42MB. This is my experience so far. dogert  |
I forgot to say that i encoded the movie in 352x288 (VCD-PAL).

Just Do it.
My Pioneer DV-525 play the created MPEG-file perfect.
The file was created with DVD2SVCD, Tmpge 2.55 (300-1700), CQ=70, audio 128, NTSC to PAL, burned with VCDEasy to create chapters. 109min movie = approx. 784Mb To use DVD2SVCD wit the kvcd-template, i used this link to help me. http://forum.vcdhelp.com/userguides/98376.php I changed the max bitrate down to 1700 beacuse i encoded the smallest chapter from the DVD. Roughly calculeted that the filsize for the whole movie would be bigger than on 80 min disc. dogbert :D |
KVCDx3-template
Hi kwag.
You can update your list regarding the pioneer DV-525. I can play the MPEG2-template perfect, but the MPEG1-template plays only about 2/3 of the TV-screen from left. I used VCDEasy and created VCD and SVCD with the same result. dogbert :D |
Done ;)
