kvcd: best looking encodes on 42" hdtv?
Because of the limitations of my standalone player (Philips 724), I thought I'd ask what the general consensus would be for the best looking encodes that I could produce.
I'm using mostly DIVX sources, along with some DVD backups. I'm running these on my standalone to a 42' widescreen Toshiba HDTV. Obviously with that set I'm going to see some blocks and imperfections, and I can understand that. But, of the following three, which would most people encode at: 352x240 MPEG-1 @ CQ: 80 352x480 KSVCD MPEG-2 @ CQ: 70 544x480 KVCDx3 MPEG-2 @ CQ: 56 |
Make a test and choose according to your eyes !

i'd probably go with the third option but that's just me :D

I'd possibly go with 352x480 with cq 70 (maybe but then again maybe not
