Hi,
I just picked up a Toshiba SD-2800 to replace my Apex 1100W. I had originally gotten a Sony NS-300, but returned it for the Toshiba after it wouldn't play KVCDs at 24fps, or even the 30fps ones that my Apex plays fine. I suspect, after further research here, that it doesn't like my CDR media. So, for $10 more I got this one. However, it doesn't do much better. It plays my 30fps KVCDs, but all I get is audio for 24fps ones. The screen displays either the welcome screen or an image (somewhat visible but frozen) behind a bunch of jagged horizontal colored lines. I dled and tried (CDRW) all the original KVCD samples, and I had just created one with KVCD Plus 352x480, muxed as VBR VCD in bbMPEG. MY CDRW media is Acer, my CDR is Prime Peripherals.

Any ideas on what I can do to make this work? Not too many other (affordable) choices at Video Only that might work.

Thanks,
Geoff

Hey Geoff, why did you change the Sony NS-300
That model plays ALL KVCD templates!
Maybe the problem was your media

Yes, I suspect that is correct, but proper media appears to be very important according to posts in this forum. The Toshiba appears to be able to play the templates as well, according to the compatibility chart, but I can't find anything about pickiness of media. It does play MP3 too, if I should want to.
