Panasonic RV does not play SVCDs?
Why exactly wont they play super video cd's?
I just tried kwags skvcd template and while it looked great it stop starts. So I paused it. Pressed play and the video played smooth as silk, but ohh, no audio. Then the screen went black and the audio played. Then both the video and the audio came back on the screen and it was stop starting again. Now the dvd players is obviously able to decode the mpeg2 stream, and the audio stream, but not both at the same time so it seems... I'm aware of the vcd trick where you burn the svcd as a vcd, but then your not getting the fully joy of svcd or kwags skvcd as your burning it as a cbr vcd... Is there a solution to this besides getting another dvd player? Cheers Pike |
Hi Pike,
Sadly, the answer is that there is no solution. :( I have a Panasonic RP-56, and does exactly what you just described. All KVCD MPEG-1 play perfect, but not SVCD or SKVCD. -kwag |
Panasonic RV's

>I have a Panasonic RP-56, and does > exactly what you just described. maybe they learned @ Panasonic: my RV32 essentialy plays everything. (didn't test above 2500 kbps). Never had any A/V sync problem, even @ VBR <300 it works like a charme. Next time I'll try muxing VBR video + VBR audio. It's horrobly slow when changing operating modes, but it eats up everything, even thou SVCD is not claimed to work. Obrigado |
Hi,
my Panasonic RV32 plays so far everything I have burnt even SVCD. The only limitation is that the total data rate should not exceed 300 KByte/s otherwise you can hear some audio artefacts. But if you keep the 300 KByte/s bareer everything is fine. |
RV32
Ditto on the Panasonic RV 32, plays anything I put in....also the Panasonic E20 DVD-Ram Recorder/Plaer will play anything, my portable Panasonic LV55 will also play anything I put in. Pioneer DV 343 is very good at playing but will drag or skip on some videos, not sure why, but will play anything.
