MX Onda MX-DVD65N does not like KVCD

I have a MX Onda MX-DVD65N and it only accepts 352 x 240 / 288 KVCDs. This is a cheap DVD. :(

If using 480 height, the bottom part of the picture lays out of the screen, as if the DVD were unable to put the whole frame into the TV.

If using 528 width, then, I can see horizontal strips.

Any way to overcome this? The SVCD trick will NOT do.

Many thanks.

Hi Gaudi,

Did you try the same resolutions, but encoded to MPEG-2 instead of MPEG-1 :?:

Not all of them. Just tested SKVCD and it works fine, though in some part of the movies the color vanishes, but quickly reappears.

So, your suggestion is to use the same templates, but changing the encoder to MPEG-2?
Wouldn´t that decrease the quality?

Thanks

Yes because it's more compatibel with MPEG-2 in high resolution then MPEG-1 with the same.

With TMPGEnc MPEG-1 is a little bit better than MPEG-2 but if you use Mencoder in connection with Pack-Shot the MPEG-2 Encode looks very great.
