Check if your System Stream Setting is set to non-standard.
Else TMPGEnc will pretty much override your VBR settings.

My guess: your movie is approx. 120 min ?

But the better way is to frameserve the movie to TMPGEnc.

Try 336 for 352x or 672 for 704x and take a look at the resulting filesize!

The resulting movie quality is horrible!

Problem solved.

I activated DirectShowFilter in TMPGEnc in addition to Quicktime Reader and it worked.

This totally eludes me, but well...

I decided to try AviSynth too.
But so far I had no success opening the DivX avi's I want to convert with TMPGEnc.
