TMPGEnc: Is tmpgenc any good at encoding mpeg-2 video?

I`ve heard everywhere how good tmpgenc is at mpeg 1 - especially with kvcd templates, and i agree it is superb, but what about mpeg 2 ?

TMPGEnc crashes when loading mpeg2 in windows xp

Please help, I`ve used Tmpgenc a lot but never had this problem before - I created a DV movie in MGI vid wave 5, output as standard Mpeg2 for DVD (In Vid wave).

I`m trying to put some holiday DV footage (PAL) onto cd & just discovered these great templates. I used kvcdplusx2 first & results were great, picture sharp but a little rough on fast motion...
